2020 saw many disruptions to businesses, including those we serve in the food manufacturing and grocery industries. Still, there were also many new developments and pivots in effective ways to repackage restaurant food items for retail sale and more. We’re proud to be a part of a continuously improving and evolving industry.
Growth & Expansion of Headquarters
Over the last few years, Natural Choice Foods has grown to buy and sell overstock food items across most of the USA. This includes serving over 1,000 secondary outlet stores in 35 states. Since we purchase (we buy, not broker) food items and bring them into our warehouse, more space was needed to inventory and process these items.
Natural Choice Foods’ new headquarters has been in process for most of 2020 and continues into 2021. We’re not moving far though, still based in West Michigan going from Comstock Park to Marne.
Warehouse Expansion & Capabilities Improvements
The new location expands our warehouse space to over 150,000 square feet for refrigerated, frozen and dry grocery items. Our USDA and FDA Certified Repack Facility has doubled in size, capable of packaging over 1 million pounds of food per week. We talked about the opening of our Repack facility in Fall of 2020, and yes, it’s already doubled due to customer demand.
Office space has also increased, and with COVID restrictions in place (at the time of this writing), we’re able to spread people out between our current and new offices during the transition period.
What Does it Mean to Our Customers?
Natural Choice Foods has become one of the largest, single source companies that buys and sells overstock and distressed food inventory. Food manufacturers rely on us to find creative solutions to help them sell inventory that they are unable to sell in normal channels. And, for secondary outlets and smaller stores, they’re able to purchase high quality, name brand food items for less, giving them more margin for their business.
As Natural Choice Foods continues to grow, we’re committed to continuous improvement through repackaging, co-packing, private label food items and our core buying and selling of overstock inventory.
