Grand Rapids, Michigan – 2022 marks Natural Choice Foods’ 25th year providing overstock food solutions that help increase food accessibility and eliminate food waste.
Natural Choice Foods is one of the largest total solution providers in the food supply industry and works with food manufacturers, secondary retailers, and foodservice-dependent organizations. Food manufacturers across the United States rely on Natural Choice Foods to take distressed and overstocked food inventory. This helps food manufacturers improve their bottom line and achieve zero waste sustainability goals. Additionally, Natural Choice Foods supplies overstock food and distressed food inventory to secondary outlets and independent retailers, allowing them to gain a competitive advantage by buying a variety of food products from a discount grocery reseller.
Natural Choice Foods was founded in 1997 by father and son Nels and Shayne Eisenga. They combined their experience and passion for the food manufacturing industry with their idea to make it easier and more efficient for food manufacturers to liquidate overstock food products to secondary retail outlets and buyers all over the country.
What began with one refrigerated truck, today Natural Choice Foods has a fleet of equipment, and a 135,000 square foot warehouse with temperature-controlled storage, including refrigeration units, freezer units, and a USDA/FDA certified repacking facility.
In 2013, Natural Choice Foods opened the first of five Daily Deals discount grocery stores, which has provided insights that help them better understand both retail customers and grocery vendors. In 2019, Natural Choice Foods became one of the only companies in the secondary market to earn USDA & FDA certification for their state-of-the-art food repacking facility, allowing Natural Choice Foods to repack, rebrand, and resell refrigerated and frozen food products while completely protecting the manufacturer’s brand.
“We want to thank our customers for trusting us with their products and using our services for the last 25 years,” said Shayne Eisenga, President of Natural Choice Foods. “We look forward to serving you for years to come.”
